PROGRAM LEVEL
The MSc in Civil Engineering Program provides the opportunity to civil engineers to excel in advanced topics in four civil engineering disciplines that are structural engineering, transportation and traffic engineering, water resources and environmental engineering and geomatics engineering. The program gives information about the up-to-date developments in the above-mentioned disciplines and equips its attendees with the capability of challenging with new technological demands. The MSc program is composed of 33 credit hours distributed as follows: 9 credit hours of core courses, 15 credit hours of elective courses in civil engineering (12 hours from the required discipline) and 9 credit hours of thesis in the field of specialization. The student may register for thesis after successfully completing 12 credit hours and obtaining the approval for a thesis proposal countersigned by their thesis supervisor and the program coordinator. Upon completing the thesis, the student is required to defend it orally before a committee of three examiners including the supervisor. The committee members must receive a completed version of the thesis manuscript at least 30 days before the thesis viva.
