Fadhel Albasri received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Bahrain, Bahrain, and Ph.D. degree in the same field from University of Western Ontario, Canada, in 1992, 1997 and 2007, respectively. He worked in Ministry of Electricity and Water, Bahrain, as an electrical engineer from 1993 to 1994. In 1994, he joined the University of Bahrain as teaching and research assistant and currently an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He published more than 22 journal and conference papers. He is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy, UK and a member of IEEE, USA. He has supervised M,Sc. students. His research interest is power systems protection, power systems analysis and FACTS-devices.
