FACULTY BIO

Dr. Fatema Qaed has a PhD from Northumbria University, UK, and has a professional membership at RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce),UK. Fatema has broad multidisciplinary backgrounds, with an B.Sc. in Interior Architecture from King Faisal University, MA Design from Northumbria University and a PHD in learning and space design. Fatema was awarded the best business plan for Design Mine project. Her research about virtual reality exhibitions has been recognized as distinguished. Her tool (Classroom Design Recipes) transformed teachers’ understanding of interior design using convivial tool concept. She has participated in international participatory design conference in Denmark highlighting the value of using social media to enrich design research. Fatema Qaed specializes in design thinking, interior design, learning space, convivial tool, virtual reality exhibition, and learning theories. She teaches Design I, Presentation technique and graduation projects.
