Dr. Hawra Al Shaikh

Hawra is an Interior Designer with a B.Sc in Interior Design from the University of Bahrain and a M.A. in Architectural and Interior Design from the University for the Creative Arts, Rochester. She is a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Bahrain, She is currently a PhD candidate at Canterbury School of Architecture, University for the Creative Arts, UK. In her PhD, she explores interdisciplinary intersections between architecture, psychology and cultural theory. Her project considers the immaterial aspects of the user’s spatial experience in a user-oriented architectural practice. She is attempting to understand how architecture could be meaningful and purposeful to its users while responding to the contemporary social and cultural conditions.
