Biography


Dr. Majeed S. Jassim is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bahrain. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical & Process Engineering from Newcastle University (UK) in 2002, specializing in process intensification and CO₂ capture technologies. His research spans environmental engineering, wastewater treatment, air quality, and applications of artificial intelligence in sustainable systems. He has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences. Dr. Jassim has also served as Head of the Chemical Engineering Department and contributed to numerous academic, industrial, and professional committees.

Achievements


  • Certificate of Excellence (Bronze), University of Bahrain, for effective use of Blackboard LMS (2012/2013).
  • Research article on CO₂ absorption/desorption in rotating packed beds ranked among Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research’s most accessed (2007).
  • Paper on innovative CO₂ capture configurations recognized as one of the most accessed in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research special issue (2006).
  • Awarded Fulbright Scholarship for postdoctoral research at the University of Texas at Austin (2004–2005).

Biography


Dr. Majeed S. Jassim is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bahrain. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical & Process Engineering from Newcastle University (UK) in 2002, specializing in process intensification and CO₂ capture technologies. His research spans environmental engineering, wastewater treatment, air quality, and applications of artificial intelligence in sustainable systems. He has published extensively in leading international journals and conferences. Dr. Jassim has also served as Head of the Chemical Engineering Department and contributed to numerous academic, industrial, and professional committees.
