Dr. Nuha Alzayani is an Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department, UOB. Dr. Alzayani has a PhD in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical Eng.) from University of Birmingham in 2019 (titled: Impact of Undrained Deformation on the Hydraulic Conductivity of Cement-Bentonite Barrier Material). She got her MSc degree in Soil Mechanics from Imperial College London, United Kingdom in 2011. She has a membership in the Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator Program. Dr. Alzayani has launched an inspirational initiative, called ‘Learn.Plan.Accomplish’, which supports the refinement of civil engineering students' skills. She organized many scientific seminars and field trips inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain to review the latest developments in the field of civil engineering regionally and internationally. Dr. Alzayani chaired the Civil Engineering Department Schedules Committee, and she is an active member of other committees at the college and university levels. Her research areas of interest are in underground barriers, soil improvement, slopes stability, seepage problems, and green building materials. Dr. Al Zayani worked at the Roads Planning and Design Directorate in the Ministry of Works, and Mohammed Salaheddine Consulting Company before joining the University of Bahrain.
