Biography


Dr. S. M. Zakir Hossain was educated and trained in both chemical and biochemical engineering. He has gained over 16 years of teaching and over 20 years of research experience. He has more than 100 scientific publications in several referred Journals and conferences, including two patents in his field. He has published articles in many high-impact factor journals, including Impact Factor, as high as 15.9 (Sustainable and Renewable Energy Review). His h-index: 25, i10-index: 44, and citations: 3023 (as of Sept 19, 2024). He has been included in the "World's Top 2% Scientists" for consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024) with UOB affiliation, based on the Elsevier Data Repository entitled "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators" prepared by Prof. John P.A. Loannidis and his team at Stanford University. Currently, He is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bahrain.

Achievements


  • Nov 8, 2023: Received award from President of UOB for “being among world’s top 2% scientists 2023 by Standford University and ELSEVER-SCOPUS.”
  • June 23, 2022: Received research award for “the highest h-index senior faculty (2021)” in the College of Engineering, UOB.
  • June 23, 2022: Received research award for “the highest number of published journal articles (2021)” in the College of Engineering, UOB.
  • December 4, 2019: Received best article competition award (1st position) from American Chemical Society (Saudi Chapter) for 2019.
