Dr Salwa Baserrah is since January 2018 an Assistant Professor in the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department. Dr Baserrah has received her PhD-certificate with grade 'magna cum laude' at the Institute for Electrical Drives, Power Electronics & Devices (IALB), University of Bremen, Germany in November 2014, and her PhD study is titled: Theoretical and Experimental Investigations of a Permanent Magnet Excited Transverse Flux Machine with a Segmented Stator for In-Wheel Motor Applications. She completed her MSc with grade Distinction with high Honor specialized in electric drives and machine design from University of Bahrain in Slip Energy Recovery Drive Systems. She joined Robert Bosch GmbH Gasoline Systems- Electric Vehicles & Hybrid Systems-Powertrain in Stuttgart-Germany in 2013 as a senior development engineer for electrical machines in electrical cars & hybrid vehicles; where her focus area was modeling & measuring the noise in electrical machines from electromagnetic waves and mechanical construction towards optimization solutions for the overall construction of the electric axle; which included projects for companies Daimler-Mercedes, Porsche and BMW. She has received “Outstanding Paper Award” at IEEE-ICEMS2010 in Korea. She is a reviewer for Electric Machines Committee of IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications und IET Journal of Electrical Systems in Transportation. She is a senior member in IEEE, VDI- Association of German Engineers, DEGA e.V.: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Akustik & Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE).
