Nazish Abid is an architect with experience of over 7 years in academics and practice. He holds post-professional M. Arch degree from Jamia Milia Islamia, India specializing in Recreation Architecture and Public Space Design, and a B. Arch degree from Aligarh Muslim University, India and has a keen interest in Sustainable Community Development Practices, Urban Quality of Life Studies and Place Making. He holds several certifications in “Sustainable Development Goals” from Erasmus University Rotterdam, University of Copenhagen, and University of Michigan. He has worked as a Recreation Architect at Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi on design and execution plans of India’s first three HRIDAY Cities along river Ganges, India. His project SABAR S.M.A.R.T. Village: An aspiration of the tribals of Jharkhand featured in the online and physical exhibition “Design in the age of crisis” displayed at somerset house, London Design Biennale 2021. He has published articles and book chapters in several reputed publications and has presented his research works at several international forums and conferences. He practices and encourages “User-Oriented Design” and is an advocate for student-centered learning and teaching.
