Biography
Dr. Noor Aldoy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture and Interior Design at the College of Engineering. She teaches a range of courses including Computer-Aided Interior Design, Advanced Modelling and Visualisation, Furniture Design, Interior Design Management, Design Fundamentals II, and Interior Design Training.
Dr. Aldoy previously served as a Design and Innovation Manager at the Lancaster China Catalyst Programme and as a Senior Knowledge Exchange Associate on the London Fusion Project at Lancaster University in the UK. Prior to that, she worked as a Lecturer in Digital Space and Technologies at the Arts University Bournemouth and was a member of the Design Practice Research Group at Loughborough University. Her work focused on digital industrial design methods and curriculum development. She also served as a co-investigator on a Hewlett-Packard Innovation in Education grant, which explored the use of tablet PCs as sketching tools in design education.
Dr. Aldoy holds a First-Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Design and Technology and a Master of Science in Industrial Design, both from Loughborough University. Following her Master’s degree, she was awarded a PhD studentship at Loughborough University, where she completed her doctorate in 2011 in the field of Digital Industrial Design. Her research interests centre on the integration of computer technologies within design practice.
