Prof. Mohab A. Mangoud is a Professor of Telecommunications, Networks, IoT, and AI at the University of Bahrain (UoB), with over 31 years of teaching and research experience. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Alexandria University and a Ph.D. from the University of Bradford, UK. His career spans roles as a Senior RF Engineer at Airbus-Astrium Space Ltd and academic positions at AASTMT in Egypt and Virginia Tech in the USA. At UoB, he serves as the program coordinator for the M.Sc. in Telecommunications and Networks, Lead the telecommunications research labs, Besides teaching and supervising students in AI systems M.Sc Program since 2020. He is also a telecommunications consultant for Bahrain Polytechnic (2012-2014). Prof. Mangoud has supervised over 20 graduate students, published more than 80 papers, and worked on numerous internationally funded research projects in areas including Wireless Communications, IoT, AI, and Molecular Communications. His recent focus is on machine learning and deep learning in wireless communications. He is a Senior IEEE Member and actively involved in various IEEE societies. He has held several leadership roles, including Vice Chair of IEEE Bahrain Section (2015-2018), Counselor of IEEE UOB Student Branch, and Founder and Chair of Bahrain ComSoc Chapter (2017-2022). He also plays key roles in organizing international IEEE conferences, including as co-chair of MENACOMM 2019 and steering committee chair for the MENACOMM conference series. Recently, he was appointed the global chair of the IEEE ComnSoc Sister Chapters Program in 2023-2024. Also, IEEE R8 Committee memebr since 2021. Additionally, Prof. Mangoud is an NCAAA Evaluator since 2019. He has been an external evaluator and chair for many academic promotions committees across the GCC and MENA region.
