ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department follows university of Bahrain mission, through seeking excellence in teaching and learning. The academic faculty members of the department deploy different ways of teaching and means of presentation. In addition, the academic faculty members in the department conduct research to increase knowledge exposure and dissemination, and they are interested in enhancing the student’s personality and the development of various skills in accordance with the requirements of the labor market. The department is keen to encourage students to participate in local and international professional societies for the purpose of professional development. Moreover, it works to build partnerships with the public and private sectors through seminars, workshops, conferences and field trips.
OUR PROGRAMS
The bachelors of science in mechanical engineering program contains 135 credit hours and it is accredited by both national authority for qualification and quality assurance of education and training (NAQQAET) and accreditation board for engineering technology (ABET) in the United States.

OUR FACULTY
As of 2024, there are 15 qualified and well-experienced faculty members. 14 of the faculty are Ph.D. holders and 1 MSc holder. Among the Ph.D. holders, there is 1 full professor, 2 associate professors, and 11 assistant professors. All ranked faculty members have earned their degrees in diverse mechanical disciplines from esteemed academic institutions worldwide, including Canada, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States
The faculty possesses a wide range of specializations, with many members holding professional certifications in areas such as air conditioning (ASHRAE), Project Management (PMP), and Office Productivity (MOS).
In addition to their academic roles, faculty members engage in research at both regional and international levels and participate in various governmental and industrial committees, as well as community service initiatives. They also contribute to student extracurricular activities by supervising projects and competitions. Several faculty members teach specialized courses at the Master’s and Ph.D. levels within our mechanical engineering and engineering management programs. All ranked faculty supervise senior projects in the undergraduate program, with many also overseeing MSc and Ph.D. students.
